Just Because You Have Freedom Doesn’t Mean You Are Free!!

To be truly free a high price has to be paid. Most of us take freedom from granted because we are not the ones who are paying the price to be free. I have always believed that freedom and security cannot exist equally and at the same time. If you have more security then you have less freedom, and if you have more freedom then you have less security. A perfect example of this is a prison. In a prison, inmates have less freedom because more security exists.

Unfortunately, the majority of people view freedom as being totally free and I disagree. Being totally free is not just having the ability to come and go as you please. It is having the ability to do anything and everything you want. For example, a person may be able to come and go freely throughout his or her day without someone telling them what to do. But wait….someone or something is telling them what to do. That something is their income! The type of income and how a person earns their income completely tells them where to live, what to drive, what to wear, & what to eat. If you don’t make a lot of money or you are not controlling your income; then you are not truly free. You are trapped in the illusion of being free.

Since 1997, I chose to honor all of the men and women who fight and prepare to fight each and every day so that I can be truly free. I want to be truly free and not live in an illusion of being free. The vehicle that would allow me to have total freedom which includes being financially free is Network Marketing. In Network Marketing, I am able to control my income in which no one can tell me where to live, what to drive, what to wear, & what to eat. I have the ABILITY to decide and create these conditions the way that I choose to.

So, honor those who have lost their lives and are willing to fight for our freedom by embracing total freedom which includes financial freedom by building your Network Marketing business and designing your life.

Stop Trying To Be Popular & Build Your Business!!

Most people who join a Network Marketing company bring a Corporate America mentality with them. Unfortunately, both mentalities don’t work well together. I have said for many years that people who join Network Marketing companies with a Corporate America mindset MUST unlearn all that they know; and re-train themselves with a Network Marketing mindset. For example, Corporate America titles such as Manager, Coordinator, and other titles hold no weight because everyone starts at the bottom in Network Marketing. I also believe that your educational background doesn’t mean a thing in Network Marketing because your ability to get good grades on a test won’t help you to recruit people on your business team; your communication and people skills will. There has never been a test design by a man or woman that can tell the world what type of person you are based on a numerical score.

Furthermore, it is always said that everyone wants to feel special and want to be recognized. This is very true. However, your popularity doesn’t mean a thing if you are NOT making any money in your Network Marketing Company. You might feel special if the majority of people in your MLM company knows who you are, but believe me people WILL NOT FOLLOW YOU IF YOU ARE NOT MAKING ANY MONEY. I have seen large amounts of people who are screaming for attention, but are completely failing at advancing in title and making BIG money in their company. You want attention then STOP seeking it and build your business. You want to get noticed; then BUILD YOUR BUSINESS & MAKE BIG MONEY!! You should not want to conduct big over-priced meeting, schedule big conference calls, or try to be the key speaker at large events.

Instead, focus that same energy and desire on GROWING YOUR BUSINESS & GROWING YOUR INCOME!! Then and only then you will be truly popular. People follow people who are looked at as leaders. The leaders in Network Marketing are the ones who are making BIG money not the ones begging for attention trying to be popular.

Why Do People Make Excuses?

This is an age old question that the majority of Network Marketers leaders are constantly asking. I believe that most people who make excuses truly don’t take the time to listen to themselves on why they are making those excuses in the first place. To me, excuses are modified lies that excuse-makers tell others so that they can look good, because they know that they should be doing something that they don’t want to do. WHOA!! Now that is a mouth full, but let me explain what I mean.

I remember shopping in a Walmart during the Christmas season. After I finished shopping, I preceded to checkout my items on one of the checkout lanes. The cashier for the lane I was on was a lady. This lady appeared extremely tired as if she had been working for two days. I felt sorry for her so I kindly asked her if she was okay. She replied, “Yes I am, I’m just very tired because this is my second job and I just had a long day at my first job.” Since I am a Network Marketer, I offend her an opportunity to work with me in my company part-time in which she can set her own hours and make the same amount of money she was making at her second job. Immediately, she replied, “No thanks, I will be okay once I get some rest.”

Why do you think this happened? Not because she didn’t have the potential to work part-time in my company, set her own hours, and still make the same amount of money the she was currently making at her second job. No, that’s not why at all. The true reason is because she hasn’t been beat up enough in her current situation to cause her take action and change what she was doing. In other words, she was comfortable where was at that particular moment of her life. The moment she becomes sick and tired of her current conditions is the ONLY moment when she would be willing to change her situation; not before.

This is what happens with some of our teammates who don’t show up at meeting, conference calls, and other training and business building events. They prefer to give us excuses instead of doing what they should be doing to achieve success. It’s only because they comfortable in their current condition to the point where they don’t want to make any changes. Network marketing leaders should understand that if excuse-makers don’t want to make the change for a better life for themselves; you can’t change it for them. Your only job is to move on and work with the ones who don’t make excuses, but are willing to make the necessary changes for a better life. This reduces your frustration and betters you chances of achieving success.

Use Network Marketing To Become a Superhero in Your Home

I remember when I was a teenager growing up in the South Bronx. I always wanted to do something extra ordinary with my life however; I didn’t know what that would be. I spent the majority of my time outside of schoolwork and chores; reading comic books. I was fascinated with all of the superheroes that had extra ordinary powers. The main thing that stood out in mind regarding these superheroes was not just how they saved people, but how they were willing to sacrifice themselves to save others. Although, I knew that the superheroes I admired were only fictional characters created by someone’s imagination. I still wanted to follow in their shoes. But how could I use some kind of extra ordinary power to help others?

Well, you know what? I began to discover that everyone is born with extra ordinary powers however; most people fail to recognize them. In addition to not recognizing them; most people will never put them into action. I believe this is very sad because this world would benefit a great deal if more people discovered his or her extra ordinary power and put it to good use. Want to know what this extra ordinary power is? It’s the power to become whatever you put your mind to! We all were born with this gift and only a hand few use it. I also believe that one factor that contributes to this is our environment and the people we associate with.

This is why I love Network Marketing so much because most Network Marketing Companies create environments that promote this particular super power by having a personal development plan and leadership development programs. They train you and condition you to believe in yourself, show you how to gain confidence, and encourage you to become a better person. Most of the people in these companies are on the same path to become financially independent and to become a better person. Just like the saying goes, “If you hang around five positive people; you will become the sixth one. If you hang around five negative people; you will become the sixth one.” I prefer to associate with people who are seeking to better themselves than those who want to be average and ordinary. So, seek to discover your extra ordinary power, use a vehicle such as Network Marketing, and put your super power to good use.

What Is Your Emotional Why

One of the first emotions that every Network Marketer has to develop is his or her “emotional why.” This “why” should be so strong that when he or she thinks about it they begin to cry. For example, when I first started in my Network Marketing Company, my “emotional why” was to never have to work at a job ever again. I remember some years back when I was working as a NYC Correction Officer; I was on a “hospital run.” This is when we have to go to one of the hospitals in the city and watch an inmate that was admitted in that hospital.

During one of these “hospital-runs” my oldest son had a very bad asthma attack and had to be rushed to a hospital that was closest to him. I wanted to be with him however; this meant that I would have to have another Correction Officer relieve me so I visit him. I called my supervisor and explained the situation. He stated that they were going to send someone to relieve me as soon as they could. Unfortunately, it took them three hours to send someone to relieve me then it took another two hours to return all of the equipment required for the “hospital-run” and to finally reach my son.

He was recovering well however; what if he wasn’t? What if things began to turn bad? What if he had died before I reached him? I would have not been there to see him in his final moments. I was not happy with the control my job had on me in this situation and swore never to let any other job control me like that again. This was the creation of my EMOTIONAL WHY. The thought of having someone control my life sickens me and if something like this ever happened to me again; I probably would cry. This is why your “emotional why” has to be so strong that it will make you cry.

Your “emotional why” may be totally different than mine, but I am willing to bet that you have one. This is your driving force that will keep you moving forward in your Network Marketing business even when conditions are not going well. Your “emotional why” gives you courage, patience, confidence to fight hard to achieve the success you want in your Network Marketing business. So always remember your “emotional why”, keep it in front of you, move forward, and reach your goals and dreams.
