Most people get involved into a Network Marketing company
through a representative or associate who is already in the business. We will
call this person an “upline.”The upline has a financial interest in the new
person’s success. WHY!? If he or she doesn’t make any money by selling the
products or service then the upline does not make any money. In this case, a “smart” upline will do
anything and everything they can to ensure that the person they brought into
the business receives as much training and support as possible. This is
considered a “win-win” situation in which both people win; the upline and the “downline”
(the new person brought into the business.)
On most cases, uplines understand that the more training a
downline receives the more successful he or she becomes. So, they should do
everything in their power to help provide that training either from them or a
third-party resource. Fortunately, the majority of downlines in a NetworkMarketing Company truly appreciate the value of the training that their uplines
provide to them. However, there are a hand-few who don’t appreciate this
training. They usually have what I call an “entitlement” mentality in which
they feel as if they are owed something, or the upline has to provide them with
something just because of who they think they are. I also call this, “they believe
in their own introduction.” Don’t get me wrong, I believe that having high
confidence and high self-esteem are very important. However, being
over-confident and “cocky” are not a great fit for this industry.
One of the best ways to ensure your success in your Network
Marketing Company is to become a great student, and learn all you can. I would
further say you should also appreciate any training that your upline or anyone
else provides for you because their ultimate goal is to help you succeed. So,
with that being said, stop thinking you know everything and make sure that
thank your upline for providing all of the training they provide in order to
help you SUCCEED in your Network Marketing Company.
